March 2024: New Home screen, Impact Account Profile, Settings, and more

As of March 2024, we’ve made some changes to the Impact Account to enhance your giving experience. Let us walk you through what’s new.

Home

Welcome to your new home screen. From this screen, you can quickly and easily access your tax receipts, go to your Impact Account overview, and check out the latest news and stories from Charitable Impact.

Tax receipts

Access your tax receipts from the bottom-left of your screen. Select View tax receipts, select the tax receipt recipient, and view and download your receipts organized by year. Learn more about accessing tax receipts.

Impact Account

Select your Impact Account card under Your Impact Account in the centre of your screen. You’ll be taken to your Impact Account overview, where you can see your balance and account activity.

News and stories

Below your Impact Account card, you can explore the latest news and stories from Charitable Impact.

Access your charity or company account(s)

Instead of switching accounts, you can now access your charity or company account(s) directly from your Home screen under Charities and companies you administer. This can be found below your Impact Account.

Personal profile

Your personal profile has been updated to show your display name, bio, your Impact Account, and Giving Groups you manage or are a member of. Your display name is the name that appears on your personal profile and throughout the Charitable Impact platform. By default, it is your first and last name, and can be changed at any time.

Settings

In Settings (formerly Account Settings), you can manage the details that appear on your personal profile by editing your Profile information.

You can also adjust your Privacy settings. Choose whether you want your personal profile to be discoverable on Charitable Impact. Discoverability is turned on by default when you sign up for an account, but you can turn it off any time. If discoverability is turned on, you can still adjust the visibility settings for particular items on your personal profile.

Impact Account profile

The Impact Account profile is a new page. Your giving goal, causes and topics, and favourite Giving Groups and charities have moved from your personal profile to the Impact Account profile. Rest assured, your Impact Account activity and account balance are never visible on your Impact Account profile.

By default, the Impact Account name shown on your Impact Account profile is your first and last name. You can change this to a specific name or nickname any time under Impact Account settings. Some people who use Charitable Impact give under a foundation or family name, and update their Impact Account name as such.

The Impact Account profile also has space for you to enter a short description about what this Impact Account is going to be used for.

Impact Account settings

Impact Account settings is a new area of your Impact Account where you can manage the following preferences.

Impact Account information

Manage the details that appear on your Impact Account profile by editing your Impact Account information. This is where you can choose a specific name or nickname for your Impact Account, and add a description of what your Impact Account might be used for.

Privacy

You can choose whether you want your Impact Account profile to be discoverable on Charitable Impact. Discoverability is turned on by default when you sign up for an account, but you can turn it off any time. If discoverability is turned on, you can still adjust the visibility settings for particular items on your personal profile.
