Give to a charity, Giving Group, or Campaign from your Impact Account
You can send gifts from the balance of your Impact Account to Canadian registered charities.
There are about 85,000 that are registered with the Canadian Revenue Agency, including:
- charitable organizations
- public and private foundations
- educational institutions
- religious organizations
- qualified donees such as municipalities, registered Canadian amateur athletic associations (RCAAAs), and arts and culture groups

Give to a charity
- To find a charity to give to:
- On the web: Select the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page.
- On the mobile app: Select Give to a charity or Giving Group from your dashboard.
- Type the name of the charity you would like to give to in the search field.
- Select the charity from the search results.
- Select a gift amount or enter a custom amount on the right-hand side of the charity page, then select Give.
- Select the frequency with which you would like to send the gift:
- Once - send the gift once
- Monthly - send the gift once a month, on the 1st or 15th of each month. Note: Monthly gifts require you to create an Impact Account. You’ll be asked to create one in the next step.
- Select the information you would like to share with the charity.
Note: The information shared defaults to the options you selected under Impact Account settings in the Information to share tab.
- Include an optional message for the charity. The charity will receive this message with your gift.
- Include an optional note to self about your gift.
- Select Review.
- Review your gift details, then select Send gift.
Give to a Giving Group or Campaign
- To find the Giving Group or Campaign to give to:
- On the web: Select the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page.
- On the mobile app: Select Give to a charity or Giving Group from your dashboard.
- Type the name of the Giving Group or Campaign you would like to give to in the search field.
- Select the Giving Group or Campaign from the search results.
- If you’re giving to a Giving Group, you’ll need to join the group first in order to give to them. Select Join group.
- Select Give.
- Select a gift amount or enter a custom amount.
- If the Giving Group or Campaign you're giving to has enabled monthly gifts, you can choose to give the gift once or monthly on the 1st or 15th of each month. Note: Monthly gifts require you to create an Impact Account. You'll be asked to create one in the next step.
- Select the information you would like to share with the Giving Group or Campaign. Note: The information shared defaults to the options you selected under Impact Account settings in the Information to share tab.
- Include an optional message for the Giving Group members and admin, or Campaign admin. They will receive this message with your gift.
- Include an optional note to self about your gift.
- Select Review.
- Review your gift details, then select Send gift.
Note: When sending a gift to a charity, your gift will be disbursed to them on the next scheduled disbursement date.
Manage monthly gifts
If you have chosen to send a gift to a charity, Giving Group, or Campaign each month, you can edit or cancel your monthly gift anytime.
Note: It’s important to know that monthly gifts and monthly deposits are managed as separate transactions in your Impact Account.
If you set up a corresponding monthly deposit to cover your monthly gift, please be advised that cancelling your monthly gift does not automatically cancel the monthly deposit as well. Changes to the monthly deposit need to be made separately. Learn how to manage monthly deposits.
On the web:
- Select your Impact Account.
- Select Manage deposits and gifts in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the Scheduled deposits tab.
- Select Edit for the monthly gift you would like to change.
On the mobile app:
- Select Account.
- Under the section, Upcoming transactions, select the monthly gift you would like to change.
Cancel a monthly gift
For gifts made with an Impact Account
On the web:
- Select your Impact Account.
- Select Manage deposits and gifts in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the Scheduled deposits tab.
- Find the monthly gift you would like to cancel, select the three dots, and select Delete.
On the mobile app:
- Select Account.
- Under the section, Upcoming transactions, select the monthly deposit you would like to cancel.
- Select Delete.
For gifts made without an Impact Account
If you set up a monthly gift without an Impact Account, you can cancel your monthly gift by finding and opening the email from hello@charitableimpact.com under the subject line “Thanks for setting up a monthly gift to...”. Select cancel your monthly gift at the bottom of the email.

Minimum and maximum gift amounts per transaction
The minimum and maximum gift amounts you can give from your Impact Account per transaction are outlined below:
